At Y Counseling, we provide affordable counseling services for those with insurance and personalized therapy services for those without insurance.
We accept most private insurance plans
Heather is a Licensed Professional Counselor, EMDR Certified, and she accepts most major insurances in Pennsylvania, including Aetna, Cigna, Geisinger, Highmark, UPMC, UPMC for You (Blair, Bedford and Somerset Counties only), Optum, United Healthcare. She also accepts Medicaid for Blair, Bedford and Somerset Counties Only (not Medicare).
For those who choose not to use their insurance, Personalized Therapy is an option.
Insurance for Individual Counseling
Insurance payment requires medical necessity criteria being met by client.
Clients are responsible for co-pays and deductibles at time of session.
Y Counseling LLC will only bill primary insurance. Any secondary insurance billing will be up to the client to complete. The office will provide the paperwork required so that you can bill your secondary insurance.
We do not bill Out of Network. If you would like to utilize Out of Network services the office will provide you with the paperwork required. You will be responsible for the full cost of session at the time of session.
It is the responsibility of the client to know of their co-pay and deductible amount. Our office will not be certain until after billing is completed. At that point you have already received the service and could be left with a bill you did not expect.
In the event that your insurance does not cover behavioral health or has a high deductible, you may be interested in our Personalized Therapy.
Counseling Session Rates
Regular 45 minute Session
Extended 60 minute Session
You may bring a family member into your session in order to understand your medical issue. (Not marriage counseling).
*Medicaid sessions are 53 minutes or more.
Employee Assistance Programs
We are In-Network with a variety of Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and State Employee Assistance Program (SEAP) plans, including SEAP (Optum EAP), Cigna, and Life Solutions. There is no co-pay.
Check with your Human Resources if you qualify or call SEAP directly.
EAP is set up for 3 to 6 sessions. Some EAPs require you to change counselors if you need continued support or medical necessity criteria is present.
Clients may obtain counseling for a specific need, and not utilize their insurance. This would be completely client driven.
Clients who have invested time and money in their personal growth tend to make significant changes. They tend to be more motivated to complete assignments outside of sessions.
Package costs can be determined based on the need (must be in scope of counselors skill set) and predetermined number of sessions.
Payment Methods for All Clients
As sometimes life gets in the way, at the time of session cash, credit card and check are an option.
A credit card will be maintained on file through IVY Pay App. Your credit card will be billed for co-pays and/or deductibles within 72 hrs. of session.
A credit card will be charged a $50 fee for a session cancelled with less than 48 hours notice.
A credit card be maintained to bill a No Show Fee of $75 for a No Call/No Show.
Co-pays/deductibles will be able to be paid with IVY PAY, a specialty credit card app for counselors. At the time of session clients will receive a text with a link to pay their bill through an encrypted, HIPAA compliant service.
